WWDACT Strong Women, Strong Voices 2 remaining rehearsals

Firstly, WWDACT would like to thank each and every individual for coming to the first WWDACT Strong Women, Strong Voices FlashMob rehearsal at the Woden Youth Centre. It was a roaring success and it was great to see the energy and gusto that the women put in to learning the choreography.

There are 2 more rehearsals until the FlashMob! While these two rehearsals are very important, they are not essential and if you are unable to make it don't worry because the most exciting day will be a Saturday, March 3.
The next rehearsal is at the Griffin Centre from 2 PM – 4 PM this coming Saturday, 18 February. It will be in room six on the second floor. The address of the Griffin Centre is
20 Genge Street Canberra City

The membership can either be claimed on the north side of Canberra or the south side. ClubPink is an equal opportunities gym and gives absolutely every single woman the opportunity to improve their fitness!

More details will be to come through member emails and blog posts - but rest assured that the wheels are in motion for a fantastic FlashMob event!

My name is Kate and I have joined the WWDACT team, and will be around for until the end of November. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Social and Community Studies at the University of Canberra. I have taken many avenues of study before settling on this degree, previously studying counselling and also law. I feel as though I have been drawn to this degree as the structure promotes meaningful participation in the local community. As students, we are encouraged to engage with the wealth of knowledge and experience that exists within community organisation. As part of this experience building, I have been given the opportunity to work alongside the WWDACT team for the next few weeks. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from this great team!

Nicole's office will be located with the Women's Centre for Health Matters, in Building 1, at the Pearce Community Centre. She can be contacted there on Mondays and Fridays. Having completed her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science at the University of New England in 2008, Nicole looked for new challenges and tranferred to Canberra during 2009. She has a wealth of experience in the community and government in both the policy and admin. areas, and aims to assist people in every facet of their every day pursuits and challenges.
